Last month, the guys at TopGear.com released some images of the Shelby Supercars (SSC) Ultimate Aero II. The engineering team at SSC is working hard to beat the Bugatti Veyron 16.4 Super Sport’s official landspeed world record for production cars, which stands at 267.81 mph. Insiders say that the car is powered by a 6.8L V8 engine making 1,350-hp, which will allow the SSC Ultimate Aero II to go from 0-60 mph in 2.8 seconds with a top speed of 275 mph.
BMW is simply astonishing in any form we see or imagine it. But here we are introducing BMW GT Concept imagined by Adam Cleveley. The concept has been designed to compete with the Aston Martin DB9 and reflects designer’s vision as to where BMW might possibly go with their range; back to larger, more luxurious concepts – something that they appear to have attempted with the slightly awkward looking 6 series. GT Concept features BMWs current ‘Flame’ Design style, but looks like nothing currently available. The GT would use the 507Hp V10 powerplant currently found in the M6 but would be geared more towards long distance cruising for its default setup. The target starting price would be likely to be similar to that of the M6.

It happened in Switzerland once again. The previous record for highest ticket for over speeding has been broken after seven months. Earlier a 53-year-old man was nailed going 35 MPH over the limit in a 50mph zone and was fined $290,000 but this time a 37 year old driver was caught driving his 570-horsepower black Mercedes SLS AMG at 180mph on the A12 highway between Bern and Lausanne on Friday. The Mercedes SLS AMG has been impounded along with man’s driving license and he is to face a penalty of just over $1 million for traveling at the highest speed ever recorded on a public road in Switzerland. And what’s more is an irony as the vehicle he is driving is worth a fraction of the fine he is facing. And to tell you little about the fining norms in Switzerland: fine for over speeding is determined on the basis of culprit’s income and the ‘extraordinary speed’ at which he was traveling. It seems that the man indulged in this speeding affair is very rich indeed.
Moal Coachbuilders, an outfit in Oakland, California, has revealed its Gatto retro sports car at Monterey 2010. This unique and radiant blue coupe model has specially been built for and as per specifications from a wealthy California investment manager. This blue beauty has under its hood a very special V12 engine borrowed from a Ferrari 250 GTO, which is capable of producing 300hp. The V12 engine is mated to a Tremac five-speed gearbox and the car also features custom Borrani wheels, custom-fitted leather seats, and straightforward analog gauges. Air conditioning, however, is one of the only modern touches given to the car. Other then these, there is also hand-built monocoque chassis and aluminum panels crimped directly onto the subframe to save weight. And all these modifications together create an awesome roadster that reminds us of an Aston Martin DB4 GT or a Maserati A6 GCS.
